My wedding dress

My bridesmaid of the day with their infinity wrap dress.
As my previous post, i had mention about making my own wedding dress. Well, here it is. I got married on 5th June 2013, wow that almost 5 years ago but the memory was still fresh on my mind.
The moment i say "I do"
It was a simple ceremony which i DIY 60% of it, that include my wedding dress, bridesmaid dress, bow tie for groomsmen, flower girls dresses and so on, and not forgetting my wedding bouquet which is made out of felt fabric cause fresh flower is too mainstream..lol

I use this two (2) patterns to help me in achieving my #weddingdressgoal

I use the Butterick #B5731 for the corset pattern and Butterick #B4131 for skirt pattern while the tulle top was self-drafted pattern. I did not have any dressform back then to do the draping technique as I couldnt find any at nearby store and buying online wasnt an option back then. So, i got to make one. After following online tutorial from youtube and with the help of my housemate, I manage to make this 'ugly' duct tape dressform.
Dont ask me where is the dressform now , gone be with the trash after i had move out from my old house..haha. Oh, i forgot to mention, my ROM (registration of marriage) dress was also handmade. Simple white satin bodice & chiffon full circle skirt with some lace detail at the waist. (How i wish i could go back to my old size). None of these dress fits me now. *sigh...
 ROM dress
Can you notice the similarity on the bodice pattern? I bet you do. At first i thought of making a long sleeve version similar to Kate Middleton wedding dress but i changed my mind after donning the ROM dress
DIY guestbook with silver and blue theme
 The wedding bouquet
 Self beaded wedding belt
I even made my own button loop
 This was my inspiration
and here is the ugly primary school student sketch of my initial thoughts of how my wedding dress will look like. Turns out it look pretty similar to what i imagine. The only things that i wish i would fit me better. Is not that bodice was too tight or loose but the shoulder doesn't stay in place where i want it to be.
Here is my two lovely niece as my flower girls with handmade dresses & flower crown (Told you everything were DIY/ handmade here..lol).

So, there you go my complete journey into this #DIYbridezilla.. Not forgetting, i even printed my own wedding invitation card because i'm just a cheapskate person..lol. All in all, it was a good experience once in a lifetime that you get so you can tell your kids or grandchildren in the future. Adios, till next time!
